WWII veteran needs your support

The Hilshire Village City Government building does not fly the American flag outside its building.

Please pass the word along about our site and write the City Council of Hilshire Village to tell them what you think of this.

Hilshire Village should install a flag pole at its new City Hall, and meet all of the other rules related to flying the American flag.

Maybe they will remove their flags when the city hall puts one up of their own.

Hey! We drove by city hall today and saw how they moved their flag and stuck it in the window where you can see it. What an improvment!

The flag is a wonderful reflection of America's freedoms. I am grateful that citizens can and do fly it's colors. However, this issue was not about patriotism it was about safety. Laws are made for the people and by the people to benefit all. The easement at the side of the road is owned and should be maintained by the city. It is used for public utility vehicles and for emergencies.

I had an incident where my children and I were riding our bikes along the curve and a dog starting running and barking toward us (another issue). It scared my daughter and she swerved off the asphalt. I am grateful the there wasn't anything pertruding along the roadside that could have caused her injury.

I would like to see the American flag flying again on your property. I am grateful for your service in the Armed forces and for your example of patriotism in flying old glory and in obeying the law.

When we drive down Ridgley we have to avoid bushes, plants and tree limbs sticking not just in the right- of- way, but into the street. There has been no effort of trying to clean up the right-of-way where there is a real saftey hazard.
